The Cendre Cross carries the ash surface of the Cendre Shirt into a cross-panelled construction. Built from multiple layers of fabric, the surface holds an architectural rigidity drawn from black ash — rugged and rock-like to look at, soft against the body. In the white colourway the crosses are dyed red, each one by hand: the only colour on the piece, and deliberately unhidden.
